In September of 1993, John Clancy and Nancy Walsh produced The Emperor’s Shorts, a series of one acts at Alice’s Fourth Floor. After an introduction to Elena K. Holy, Managing Director of Wahoo Theatre Company, a not-for-profit theatre company with a two year production history, they realized their goals were similar and united to co-produce John Clancy’s Secret Agent Man at The Beckett. This co-production was so successful they decided to merge the two companies under the name The Present Company.
